HOME MADE MARGARITAS
Still new to Los Angeles, California, I am trying really hard to adjust. Glen, my Californian boy-friend who brought me here is very patient and of course I am crazy about him.
To improve my English I go every day to UCLA to take English classes. They are mostly fun and I really enjoy them. Needless to say that I also discovered Mexican food and Margaritas, ole!
Every day after Glen leaves for work I am going to hop in to his old Mazda to drive to the University for my English schooling. This Wednesday it wasn’t any different. It is a gorgeous July day in Southern California and I am in a rather good mood. Well, that didn’t last very long. I couldn’t start the car - trying and trying and trying again. All nervous I called Glen at his office and he calls AAA for me. It is getting rather late for my English school. Finally the AAA guy shows up and in now time the car gets started. I feel utterly stupid - in this car you have to push down the pedal so hard in order to get the car started which I didn’t really do today. Oh well, it was meanwhile Noon and I decided - hurray - I don’t go to school today. Ha, and to make matters even sweeter there was “stuff” in the kitchen to fix a wonderful Margarita (which I just learned how to do).
OK, back to the apartment and getting my Margarita preparations ready. Hey, of course, I need the blender. Right on the top shelve. Stretching, grabbing and - bum - the heavy glass top of the blender wasn’t screwed in and fell - really fast. Smashing into all the clean dishes left to try next to the sink!! Oh my god -everything broke in thousand pieces! Glen’s already sparse china due to the last earthquake was diminished even more. Needless to say I lost my craving for Margaritas!!!!!!
